Our History: A Legacy of Compassion and Care

Portorreal Home Care Agency, LLC didn’t begin as a business plan. It began as a promise.

A promise made in quiet moments beside hospital beds. A promise whispered in the language of care—when words weren’t enough, but presence was everything. As a Registered Nurse, I saw the fear in families’ eyes when they didn’t know who to trust. I saw elders left behind, children with special needs misunderstood, and caregivers stretched to their limits. And I knew something had to change.

So, I made a vow: to create a place where care feels like family.  In 2023, that vow became Portorreal Home Care Agency. We started small—just a handful of caregivers and a heart full of purpose. Our first clients weren’t just names on a schedule. They were stories. They were mothers, sons, veterans, children with autism, and seniors living with Alzheimer’s—each needing more than help. They needed to be seen, heard, and held with dignity.

I’ll never forget one of our earliest families—a son caring for his mother with Alzheimer’s, overwhelmed by the weight of it all. He told me, “I just need someone who understands what we’re going through.” That moment became our mission.

We built this agency on compassion, and courage. We created bilingual materials so no family wouldn't  feel left out. We trained caregivers not just in tasks, but in empathy. We designed Autism and Alzheimer’s care services that honor each person’s uniqueness and preserve their dignity. Every flyer, every brochure, every visit—we poured our hearts into it.

Today, we are more than a home care agency. We are a lifeline. A safe haven. A reflection of the community we serve—diverse, resilient, and full of love.

And we’re still growing.

Because every time a caregiver holds a hand, every time a family breathes a little easier, we’re reminded why we started. And we know—we’re exactly where we’re meant to be.
